2013 – 2016
concept & development
SēL began in 2013 with a vision of higher performance. What started as hand sketches became an independent exploration of tool watch design—questioning how individual elements could be reimagined and refined in pursuit of greater precision, adjustability, functionality and performance.
Those concepts continued to evolve through years of experimentation and development. In 2016, that work resulted in the first complete prototype of the OmniDiver MK1, machined and assembled in the United States.
It was the first physical expression of an idea that would continue to define SēL: when conventional solutions impose limitations, develop a better one.
2017 – 2021
BUILDING INDEPENDENCE
In 2017, SēL Instrument Watch Corporation was incorporated in Arizona and the pursuit moved from prototype development toward building a watch company around the same principles that shaped the original OmniDiver.
Production of the OmniDiver continued, alongside the introduction of new manufacturing capability and new designs. By 2020, we added the D42-T Diver into production. In 2021, the FTX Field Watch was designed, manufactured and shipped while development of the MK2 began in the background.
The objective was becoming larger than a single watch. SēL was building the knowledge, processes and capability required to continually develop what came next.
2022 – 2024
In-house production
In 2022, SēL moved into a larger facility in Tucson, Arizona, providing the space to expand our manufacturing capabilities and increase production. The following year, additional CNC equipment joined the production floor, strengthening the connection between design, engineering and manufacturing.
Greater control over the process gave us greater freedom to experiment. Ideas could move from concept to machine, be evaluated, adjusted and refined through the continued advancement of our in-house manufacturing capabilities.
By 2024, that philosophy was embodied into the OmniDiver XOS 42—a concept brought to reality through design, engineering, prototyping, and production.
2025 – Present Day
BUILT FOR WHAT’s to come
Today, SēL is entering a new stage of growth.
As demand and production requirements continue to evolve, we are expanding our in-house manufacturing capabilities and investing in the equipment, processes and infrastructure needed to produce at a greater scale.
Our production floor continues to advance with upgraded CNC milling equipment, our team, expanded machining capacity and improvements throughout our manufacturing workflows. These investments allow us to increase throughput, improve consistency and bring more of the manufacturing process under our direct control.
Growth has never been the objective on its own. Our mission is to advance what we are capable of building while remaining uncompromising in the ethos SēL was founded on—putting function first, challenging convention, and choosing the best path regardless of difficulty in the pursuit of ultra-performance.
